Wan See is my primary school mate and we had many great time at school. That was definitely many many years ago yet everything is still vividly crystal clear in my mind. She is a smart girl with cheerful personality.

We went to different high school once graduated primary school and honestly, we did not keep in touch for many many years already. But I guess in the world of Internet, to be particularly accurate, with the help of Facebook, we found each other again.

We both are married and she is residing with her family at Japan. YES... JAPAN!!! Well, I won't go there bragging all over again how much I LOVE Japan. I wish to visit there in the future and I want to EAT.SHOP.SEE everything I want!!!

Anyway, WanSee is such a supportive buddy to me. She likes my knitted items a lot and she actually ordered a cowl and scarf from me. THANKSSS!!! The scarf is already made few months back and she requested another color for the cowl though. So I bought another skein of sock yarn from my beloved Woolie Ewe to start this project.

Everything is nicely packed and ready to be shipped to WanSee. I hope she will love them as much as I do and I will be expecting to see some nice photos of her wearing them, posing like a kawaii Japanese chica in front of some Sakura tree. hahaha! * Sakura *

After designing two shawls in previous months, I can't stop making more and more. The 3rd shawl that I design is actually knitted from bottom up and the outcome is amazingly satisfying. With the helps from some wonder test knitters at Ravelry, this shawl pattern was finally released and available for sales at 1st of October.

I am particularly happy with the yarn choice I made in making Peacock shawlette. I remember when I received 2 skein of the Claudia Hand Painted fingering yarn - Teal, I held them in my hands like holding precious baby! They are simply too gorgeous and yummy! But the color came off abit when I blocked them. I don't know how much more the color will come off when I wash it though.

The response is encouraging after the Peacock shawl pattern was released and I actually gathered 4 of my latest shawl designs and turned them into a eBook for sales as well. So knitters have more options for purchase. They could get 4 shawl designs of mine with little cheaper price.

All the kind words and compliments I get from these shawls really mean a lot to me and these keep me making/designing more pattern.

Sweater for Baby Lily!

Baby Lily is finally here! and I knitted her a sweet baby sweater using Claudia hand painted fingering yarn. I was supposed to give this gift away at the baby shower party but I din't get to attend simply because I remember the time wrongly and I missed it! I was soo upset when I found out I was too late to be at the shower party.

Anyway, I still manage to give this gift to Diane before Lily is born. I can't wait to see this sweater on Lily and I know that will be soon enough! =D

Also, John and I are so honored to be asked to become Lily's godparents and we all will be attending her baptism some times around October.

Triangular Shawl

The first time I made a triangular shawl was few years back at Malaysia. It was a good knit and I always wanted to knit another one since then. Time flies and the second triangular shawl that I made was just few months back, which is the pretty design of my knitting buddy, LilyGo. Bella shawl is nice to knit and it just inspired me to design my own shawl.

The first one is always difficult but I would say, the outcome worths all the hardwork. After making Be.Leaf shawl, I came up with another shawl, which is the Taj-mahal. Making shawl is just fun and they make good accessories or gifts. I have bought so many sock yarn all these years and I am still going to buy more. Turning those beautiful yarn to shawl or scarf is just amazingly satisfying!!!

The third shawl design of mine is on the way and it is test knitted by some fantastic knitters at Ravelry. I guess I will release the pattern within a week of time. It is really exciting!

Weather is getting cooler and I survive the summer in Texas. I just wish to go somewhere for a vacation with hubby before my mom's visit. Too bad that John doesn't play golf anymore because there are two beautiful golf course in Branson. A weekend getaway is exactly what we are wanting. We plan to arrive at Branson at the Friday afternoon and spend two days there.

I want to visit to one of the nice restaurants in Branson for dinner and then visit to the town square to see the water fountain. I believe that will be very entertaining show that I cannot miss. Saturday will be my shopping day. I don't think John would like to join me so he will make his trip to the Hollywood Wax Museum. I am thinking to spend 6 hours to shop and we will go for the Polynesian Island Fire show at night. This is basically what we plan to do when we are at Branson but I know there might be some spontaneous changings when we find out more about Branson.

Master Chef is a new show that showed on FOX since 2 months ago. I love this show very much and I am soo happy with the result! I want Whitney to win! She might be the youngest competitors around but she totally deserve to be the first ever America Master chef.

I love to cook (but not to clean dishes) and I try to cook as often as possible. With the packed schedule nowadays, (I am helping out my friend in her restaurant for few months already) it is not easy to have time to cook dinner as frequent anymore.

Do you cook or can you cook? I know some women just don't find any chemistry between them and the kitchen. Neither cooking nor baking. I won't say I am a very good cook, but I know for sure my hubby is always my big fans! I guess that can be the good reason to keep me cooking more for him! =D

Father goose cowl and Glasgow Argyle scarf, that are their names. A lady from Dallas actually made one Glasgow Argyle scarf and submitted to the State Fair this year and it won her a Blue Ribbon. I personally think that is very cool! and of course excited! I will definitely go check it out next week or so!

Time flies... and I am embarrassed to admit that I have abandoned my blog for more than 6 months. I am still alive and I am alright! I have been knitting non-stop and also working in my friend's restaurant. This is the 3rd month I am there and I will stop working at the end of next month.

Summer is always the season that I DISLIKE the most but I guess I spent this summer productively anyway. I work, I save up some money and I am looking forward to seeing my mom soon at the Nov! =D

Also, I have designed 2 scarves, 2 shawls in these 6 months. Not bad at all huh?!

Classic Cable Tube Top using Cotton Tencel

Penny is my best friend and her sister, PeiSe was my lecturer in college. Time flies and I already graduated from the college for almost 7 years. PeiSe does not knit very regularly but she loves visitting to my FO album in FB all the time.

About 3 months ago, she told me that she would like me to knit her the Classic Cable Tube top. Since she is living in Malaysia, it is no way I can use wool yarn. Therefore, I bought some cascade cotton tencel yarn in medium grey during the year end sales at Woolie Ewe.

I started the project few days ago and everything is going along well. It took a while to memorize the lace pattern but after 2 repetation, the pattern is well memorized! I don't think I can complete this top before I fly but I will try to take it with me on board so I have something to knit during that 34256579764 hours flight! I know, I am ridiculously axaggerated but believe me, that is totally a long flight! I try not to think about it now!

I feel much reluctant to leave John here for 2 months that long. I am already missing him very very badly! I guess this is definitely a good sign in our marriage but I believe a temporary separation does good more than harm to a marriage... Well, I have to admit that 2 months is not SHORT period! *Ahem*

YARN YARN YARN!!!

Before I tell you all how much fun I had in my LYS year end sales,
I decide to post all pictures of the yarn I bought.
YES! Picture speaks a thousand words!
Here you go~

So, Woolie ewe was having a BIG sales last year. It was a 4-day sales. To make the story short, everything was 40% almost EVERYDAY. I was there EVERYDAY and I spent like 200usd which is very good control of me! But you know what, I am regret now of not getting ENOUGH yarn when they are THAT cheap. Especially Debbie Bliss! I am regret that I did not get the cashmerino that I can make a beautiful sweater or cardigan.

Anyway, the last day of sales was 28th Dec. The sales started by 5am and I did not get there before Jill arrived to get the 40% off but I still got to have 35% off. I arrived there about 5.15am and there were around 15-20 people. About 15mins after my arrival, Jill walked up to the big round table in the middle of the shop, with a big bag of yarn in her hand. At that time, I was like 5 or 6 feet away from her. She then tried to get everyone in the store to walk up to the table and she poured out all the yarn from the big bag onto the table and said:" Hi everyone, there are free yarn here for everybody. Please grab one that you like and that will be yours, for FREE!"

I swear, before I GOT to get near to the table, there was already 4, 5 ladies around the table started browsing through the yarn. Before I had my hand on any, I was already attracted by a beautiful ball of Noro Sock yarn. THANKS GOD that no one was interested in it and I successfully GRAB it and made it mine!!! * it is all mine~~~*

While I was still on cloud nine all happy over this free ball of Noro, Jill came up to me and passed me a Woolie Ewe cotton bag and she said that is a free gift too! Have I told you lately that how much I love my LYS??? If I haven't, then I have to tell you now that I REALLY REALLY LOVE WOOLIE EWE!!!

I have been thinking to get a DSLR as Christmas present last year but at the end I changed my mind and I got a Panasonic Lumix DMC LX3. I love this little black gadget and I know I made the right choice AGAIN! haha~

It is a present from John and he bought this from Amazon. I love online shopping and Amazon ALWAYS deliver items in time as they promise. John had this camera purchased on 23rd and he got the next day delivery. Guess what, this camera arrived at our door side at 24th afternoon. Not bad at all!

Gloves and Hat set

With a request from one of my ETSY clients, I made her a set of hat and gloves in the cable pattern she wants. After she saw the burgundy brown set that she wants, she wanted me to make another set in green for her niece.

Honestly, I used to hate making gloves. I just hate to work on the thumb part separately but after working on more than 20 pair of gloves last year I guess I don't hate making them anymore, which is a good news! =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010

I have no idea how year 2009 passed by so quickly.
Let see what I have done for the whole year.

I spent 3 months at home Malaysia from March till May.
I got to work as a retail pharmacist for that 3 months
and John joined me at April and we had 2 weeks amazing holiday
together at Malaysia, celebrating my Dad's 60th year old Birthday.

I missed the crawfish party at Mike and Glo's at May 2009
and I won't miss it again for year 2010.

I have been so busy knitting tons of accessories for
the Bazaar Craft fair at October and I made decent money from it.
Also, my ETSY sales has improved compared with last year
which is very encouraging to me.

Also, another BIG NEWS!
My student loan has finally been paid off!
Hooray!!!

Year 2010 will be an exciting one I guess.
I don't expect too much changing or set myself any BIG resolution
because I believe happily living everyday
like it is the LAST day of your life is the point!

I thank God for granting me such wonderful year 2009

Not that I don't know how funny OFFICE is but lately, this show is like my daily dose that I can't miss. I cannot imagine anyone would works with Micheal Scott and bears with all his stupidity. But you just can't hate him in the show, he is just funny and adorable in certain ways!

Another character that I like very much in the OFFICE is Toby!!! Poor him, he is always bullied by Micheal and I like the way he looks at Pam. Awww, he likes her soo much doesn't he?!

But there are certain characters that I don't really like though especially Kevin. I think it is all about his facial expression when he talks. It is kinda disturbing to me! Anyway, it is a great show and I really like it!!!

Our 4th Anniversary

Time flies, doesn't it? This day 4 years ago, I married to John in front of a Juctice of Peace with Nina, parents in law around. It just seemed happen not even a year ago! After that, we had a wonderful wedding back home at Malaysia at year 2007.

Leaving my family, freinds and career to marry to America is definitely not something wise to do but for love, I guess you can let go a lot of things that you already have and hope for more and better with the man you decide to love for the rest of your live.

I can't even tell you how much I miss my family and how often my eyes just turn red and tear up when I think about them but don't worry, I am happy here and John is really good to me. Also, I am blessed with a good family and they all are real sweet and nice to me.

I thank God for everything he provides and I treasure my life very much as I suppose to. As long as I know I am not walking alone, I am sure I will have all the courage to live the life I want! Love you John, and I am looking forward to be with you for many many many many many years ahead!

The anniversary gift arrived real fast, like 2 days after I ordered it online from Amazon. John was the one who picked it up from the door side. He knew that was for him but he still had no idea what that was! I WANTED him to open it up right away but he refused. He said he can wait until 1st of December.

I guess the parcel layed around in the living room for 5 hours then I FORCED him to open up the present again. Hahahaha! I know! I just can't WAIT! So my poor baby can't refuse my request and he opened up the gift...

He got a BIG smile when he saw that. So, what did I get him??? I got him a Logitech One Harmony Universal Remote control. A totally awesome toy that most guys will love to death. He said he never have guessed I bought that for him. I can tell he truely loves his new toys and I am satisfied with this earlier surprise!!!

Ok! He spent like an hour tuning and playing with the new remote, and now we can control most of the electornic devices with THAT ONE remote. Good news and bad news too, that means, I have to LEARN all over again HOW to handle this new remote. Wish me luck!

Tulip Grace Hat

I made this hat about two months back for the Urban bazaar street craft fair. I used Berroco Ultra Alpaca for the hat and I love this yarn very very much. They are very nice to knit with. But it is just too sad to know that my local yarn shop is not carrying them at the moment. I really wish they will order this again in the future. Of course, I would like to try Ultra Alpaca light as well.

I have actually decided to write this pattern out a month ago but I wanted to try knitting this hat with lighter weight of yarn. So I picked out a 2-ply yarn from Woolie Ewe and made the same hat. Well, of course the lighter yarn shows more details of the lace stitches but worsted weight Ultra alpaca is very cozy and stretchy.

That is the reason why I include two type of yarn use in this pattern. Basically, they are knitted the same way, using the same needle but I attach as well the pictures of the two hats I knitted with two different yarns.

I released this knitting pattern at Ravelry and also at my ETSY store. Hopefully there are some knitters will love this hat as much as I do! =)

Milwaukee Trip 2009

We had a weekend trip to Milwaukee from 6th Nov - 9th Nov to attend a wedding. There were 5 of us in this trip, my parents in law, brother in law, John and I. It was a pretty early flight on the Friday. We arrived at Parents in laws about 6am in the morning and we all headed to the airport in one car.

We took a American Eagle to Milwaukee and the trip took about 2 and half hour to get there. Well, the plane is SMALL! That is the smallest plane ever I have taken. More likely it should be called an American Pigeon! The hotel that we stayed is just next to the airport which is very convinient. Also, the wedding banquet was held in the same hotel so we can enjoy ourselves to the max, drink as much as we wish and not worry about any driving.

It was a short and yet wonderful trip. We got to see a lot of relatives and the wedding is overwhelming. I love the mass service in the church. The priest did such a good job and I was touched with many things that he said.

You can't go Milwaukee without visiting to LEON's. So I did have my tripe scoope butter pecan frozen yogurt at LEon's. YUMMY!!! Well, I am definitely looking forward to go back to Milwaukee again next year!

Holiday Market in Fort Worth

Gloria and I will be joining a holiday market in Fort Worth at 21st November. We will have our own booth in a building. I just found out that there will be 75 vendors in this fair and now I am feeling all excited again.

I did not make any new things for this event as I was busy knitting a shrug and completing a design pattern for the past few weeks but I am still trying to make some fingerless gloves as these knitted gloves sold pretty good in the previous fair.

Wish me luck so I could sell some good number of items in this coming fair! =)

I have to say that I am a very lucky lady! I know this and I appreciate what I have all the time. I am blessed with a hubby that supports my hobby and spoil me with yarns all the time. He knows the fact most knitters are yarn snob that they stock yarn, buy yarn, sniff yarn, photograph yarn. I am one of those knitters and I have to say I am happy to be a knitter!

Someone rang my door bell around noon time today and I had a big smile right then because I know my yarn order is here!!! YAY!!! I have ordered some yarn from WEBS last week and I can't wait to see those good price closeout items.

I opened up the box and I saw two skeins of tweed yarn that are in Brown, orange and green color. Wait a minute, why can't I remember that I have actually ordered these? Very fast that I went through my order list and I was stoned for a minute. Ok, there was no error or problem in the order BUT, did I really order these yarn in THAT color? DID I ???

I don't like that color and I want to RETURN and EXCHANGE but sadly, I found out that closeout and sales items are not returnable nor exchangeable! AAAAAhhhhh!!! Nothing I can do I guess. I just have to think of a scarf or shawl pattern to knit them with! So, the question comes up again... Did I really ORDER that color??? I have memory loss must be!

Anyway, I like other yarns that I got from WEBS. Cascade definitely produce quality and gorgeous yarn. Besides shopping at WEBS, I went to Woolie Ewe twice this week and bought few balls of colorful fiesta yarn! All that are for scarf or shawl knitting. But guess what, I really love the Cascade Pastaza. They are discontinued item and they are only 4.79usd per skein! I am thinking to get 10 skeins so I can knit myself a hoodie or sweater!

I have been using the Knitpicks Option changeable circular needles for a while and I actually love them very much but two weeks ago, the purple cables finally fell off from the connectors while I was knitting the ruffle scarf. Well, not only 1 cable has the problem but 3 out of 4 cables they have in the set.

I know this is a common problem with this Option needles so I emailed Knitpicks customers tried to find out if I can return and get a new pairs of cables. It did not take them long to reply me at all and they already shipped 2 new pair of cables in different length to me. Another thing is, I don't even have to return the defective cables.

Their prompt response really impress me and I surely wish there won't have any problem with the needles anymore.

To prepare for the Urban Bazaar Street 9 event, I have started knitting scarf since June. I can't remember how many balls of yarn I have bought and am STILL buying, but I really really enjoy knitting scarf.

I sold some scarves last year in Etsy during the Christmas season therefore, I am hoping more scarves can be sold this year. Eventhough the craft fair is over, I am still knitting scarves religiously. I actually want to knit one for myself for the trip to Milwaukee at the beginning of November. I just realize, I haven't knitted anything for myself quite sometimes. A scarf will be something I really need in this coming trip!

I don't think I show all the scarves I have knitted in my blog so I will upload some in this post! I have so many yummy gorgeous yarn laying around on the carpet, I am still waiting for some to be delivered. Til then, I will take picture of those yarn and share with you all!

Urban Bazaar Street 9 (10th - 11th Oct 2009)

The craft fair is over and I had so much fun doing it. It was a 2 days event, 10th and 11th October. The first day started from 12 noon till 8pm evening, the 2nd day, only 4 hours which was from noon till 4pm. The weather was colder than we expected, been cloudy whole day with wind blowing.

There were around 80 other vendors and different kind of tent settings were available. I shared a tent with my sista in law Gloria and we arrived there about 9.30am to set up the store. It was fun and I am already looking forward to the next year fair.

Gloves, hats and neckwarmers sold good as I think the weather did help but amazingly scarves was selling slow. Overall, I am very happy with the sales result and I get the better idea what to do knit more next year.

If I were my laptop, I know for sure I will always be a happy laptop. I take care of my laptop very well because I can't take any risk of losing it. I do most of my daily activities with my laptop so I am very cautious with everything I do with it. I make sure I won't visit to any virus infected site and I always make sure to clean or vault all possible harmful spywares.

If I were my laptop, I am pretty sure that I am a HP DIVA because I sing good and I perform well. I play wonderful songs for my owner at least 3 hours a day and I am happy when my owner is happy with my performance. Also, I am proud to be able to connect my owner with her family back home in Malaysia. Through my eye, they can see each other and through my mouth and ears, they can talk and listen to each other too. I am built to be multi-tasking and I handle all my task very well.

I have been buying yarn alot lately and I still want to buy. Well, I finally have my first Malabrigo yarn and what can I say?! After you have your hand and eye on it, you just know you want MORE of THEM!!! I bought one skein of worsted weight merino wool Lime Blue. The color is soo nice and it is SOFT!!! I have been looking at Malabrigo yarn the whole afternoon online to figure out which color I am going to get next.

I purchased yarn from Littleknits and besides Malabrigo, I got some other discounted yarn as well. There are these Andes hand dyed wool yarn are on sales and they are dirt cheap!!! only 3.50usd per skein (216yard). Honestly, I was abit disappointed when I got them because the color is quite off from what I saw online. The color are much more ligther than I expected. I bought 2 skein each color and I am planing to knit scarf with them.

I also bought some Skacel Adagio wool n silk mixed yarn and classic elite Rave. They are on sales as well, so I just got them. My LYS is having sales for some of its yarn as well, 25% discount. I couldn't help and bought some wool yarn AGAIN. The Berroco wool/alpaca yarn are one of the sales items and I bought one purple and one green! Yup!!! My favourite color! =)

Shirley went back to Malaysia for abou 3 months 2 weeks after I got back from my 3 months Malaysia trip. That means, we din't get to hang out for almost 6 months. She is now back to Texas and she will be gone again at October for her wedding in Malaysia.

Hanging out with girl friend is always fun. I always want to try a rose champagne and guess what, I bought one from Sigels last month and I waited until Shirley is back then we drank that together.

I went over to her place this afternoon with a bottle of champagne and some Banana cake I made last night. Did I tell you that I am a fantastic banana cake baker now??!! hahaha, you can be one too! Recipe from Allrecipes.com!!! - Banana Cake -

The TV in the living room is always on when John is at home. He in charges of all the remote controls for the TV, sound system, cable, DVD players and some game consoles we have. I hate to do deal with all the remote controls and John always get yelled at when all the remote controls are scattered everywhere in the living room.

Simple Quick Homecook Meal

I managed to get some salmon and shrimp with very good price from Kroger this week. Both John and I love seafood and it is always easy to cook them. I used a recipe from Shirley which she gave me last week, but unfortunately, I don't have mayonese so I just omitted it. Actually the recipe is very similar to the one I read up at Allrecipes.com. Well, this is a great recipe and everything can be done in less than 30mins. LOVE IT!!!

For the shrimp, I used the Shrimp Lemon Pepper linguini recipe from Allrecipes.com. Yes, I love this recipe site. But I replaced the linguine with elbow pasta. I also used marsala wine instead of white wine because I don't have any! haha! It turned out to be a perfect meal for us.

I always wish to travel to Europe again because I had so much fun visiting to Italy and France few years back. I can't see this happens in any time sooner as the whole trip will cost a lot of money. Pretty In White Shrug

I have made this shrug a week ago and I think I finish this in a day. I used 8mm needle and chunky wool acrylic yarn. It is a fantastic one skein project that I can see myself making again. Since I only use one skein of yarn, so this shrug is made in XS or S size.

I get Shirley to be my model without showing her face and I really appreciate her kindness! =) The shrugs look soooo pretty on her and I know I will make another white one in S and a black one in M size. I still have one skein of white yarn and 2 skein of black.

As you can see, I knitted the body using a very simple elegant leave lace pattern. For the edge, I made a 2x2 ribbing and at the other side of edge, I crocheted around it to give the shrug more feminine touch.

I really really like how it looks on Shirley! Hopefully there are some ETSY buyers out there will love this piece as much as I do!

The first time I heard about Toywatch was about 2 years ago. There was an article about this brand in a magazine. I did not pay much attention as the design was kinda rough and big to me. But few months back, I had a look at their site and I actually like some of their designs. As what I read from the magazine, there are many Hollywood celebrities are loving their Toywatch, even First lady Michelle Obama was seen wearing a purple Neon Plasteramic watch at Eiffel Tower, Paris.

I used to buy watches quite often but they are not expensive watch and I did not spend more than 200 dollars on a watch. The last watch I got was a Swatch 3 years ago. I think it is about time that I can spoil myself with a new watch.

Few weeks ago, my brother actually told me that he likes the Toywatch skeleton Stainless steel very much and he really wants to get it. I have no idea if he got it or not but I do think this watch is nice! For me, I spotted a sweet pink watch from Toywatch too. It is Mother of Pearl Chrono Watch in Pink. We went to John Simon's birthday party last weekend and we had fun hanging out together. Not only I get to play with their girls, eat nice food, I came home with a pretty ceramic bowl. Diane, John's wife is an awesome artist. She MAKES thing! I know, I am awesome too cause I MAKE things as well! hahah! Anyway, Diane can draw, paint and make ceramic. I believe she still have many other talents that I have discovered yet.

Summer in Branson

You wish to go somewhere for a vacation with your family before school starts and you don't have any idea where to go. How about Branson, Missouri? Branson is magnificent interesting city that your whole family will find endless fun there.

John and I are really planning on a vacation before this summer ends and Branson is a city that I want to visit badly. I am all ready for the outlet mall shoppings, Hollywood Wax Museum, the Polynesian Island Fire Show and the Cirque Montage. Too bad that John doesn't play golf anymore because there are two beautiful golf course in Branson. A weekend getaway is exactly what we are wanting. We plan to arrive at Branson at the Friday afternoon and spend two days there. I want to visit to one of the nice restaurants in Branson for dinner and then visit to the town square to see the water fountain. I believe that will be very entertaining show that I cannot miss. Saturday will be my shopping day. I don't think John would like to join me so he will make his trip to the Hollywood Wax Museum. I am thinking to spend 6 hours to shop and we will go for the Polynesian Island Fire show at night. This is basically what we plan to do when we are at Branson but I know there might be some spontaneous changings when we find out more about Branson.

John and I went to 1 of the best Burgers in Texas today for lunch. This restaurant's name is Kelly's Eastside and it is located at Avenue K. I ordered a southwestern burger which is the signature popular burger and John ordered himself a cheese mushroom burger.

The price of the food in their menu is reasonable and I believe not only they make delicious burgers, I want to try out other dishes in their menu one day.

John prohibited me to take my digi cam to the lunch so I only managed to snap some pictures with my phone camera so the quality is not good.

My mascara is drying up and that is the sign to get a new one. I love to try out new mascara especially those affordable drug store brands product. Lately, I am so interested in trying the Maybelline Pulse Perfection Vibrating mascara. It is the first vibrating mascara of Maybelline. It has a patent-pending elastomer brush which vibrates 7,000 times per stroke. The selling price of this mascara is more expensive than other regular type. I believe it is around 10-15usd.

I love Diorshow waterproof with my heart and I am very very happy with it. Should I just stick with this which cost around 25usd? Or should I try out the Maybelline? Or... Should I get both? Hmmm...... not wise not wise!

Do you all like the new look of my blog? I purchased this blog banner from ETSY. Sandy is very nice to work with and I like all the vintage victorian things she makes. I will definitely look for her again when I get bored with this one!

I will upload some pictures of the food I cooked in this summer and also all the SCARVES I had knitted these 2 months. After knitting the hemlock ring, I had knitted 5 more scarves. 4 are simple seed stitch and 1x1 ribbing scarves and the last one, is a lace scarf that inspired by the Madli's shawl. Madli's shawl is one of the patterns in the book "Knitting Lace of Estonia". If you love lace knitting, you should get this book. I like the introduction of the town Haapsalu and also the knitting tradition there. Also, this book comes with some Estonian Lace stitch patterns, and that really interests me! I love this book!

I have actually bought many Rowan yarn 2 months back because my LYS is not going to carry any Rowan yarn and all the yarn was discounted 50% before I went back to Malaysia. After 3 months trip at Malaysia, some Rowan yarn were on 75% discount! I had gone crazy and visited the shop 2 days in the row. I bought some cotton and wool yarn. Also, I bought two Rowan pattern books because they were only 2usd each! Who can resist that???

Grilled salmon with teriyaki sauce. We tried to cut down rice so we had salad, corn and little mash potato. It is easy to make and tastes delicious. I can always have fish! Love them!

Grilled honey drumstick. This is a very simple dish as well. Just marinate the drumstick for 3 to 4 hours with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, ketchup, garlic, shallot, honey! Basically you can add in whatever spices you want! Put in pre-heated oven 365F. I brush the sauce on every 6-8 minutes until the skins are little dried and golden brown. YUMMY!

This is a dish that I cook regularly. EASY, QUICK and TASTY! Ingredient are swai fish (catfish) fillet, ginger and green onion stalk. Cut the fish slightly bigger than chicken nugget size, then marinate them with salt and pepper also 1 tablespoon of chinese rice wine. Prepare at least 8 slices of ginger. I love ginger and I always prepare more than that. Heat up the oil in the wok and dump in the ginger stir fry for a minute. You can see the ginger slice starts shrinking up bit and also the color change into darker tone. Now you can add in the fish. Stir fry gently so the fish won't break into pieces! After 2 minutes or so, add in oyster sauce, around 2-3 tablespoon. Stir fry GENTLY again. Now, you can add in the green onion stalk. Stir fry for another minute and then add in 3 tablespoon of water. Stir fry for another minute. Well, the dish is ready to be on the table now!!! Go get yourself a big bowl of rice to go with this!

My first attemp to cook some tau fu and sadly I slightly over fried the tau fu. Well, now I know what is the right thing to do so next time there won't be any over friend tau fu in my house! John used to think tau fu is hard to eat. He told me that they taste like tasteless egg. Now, I manage to change this big Texan man into a half asian man. He loves tau fu and I really think I can get him to hook on some other aisan food! What about chicken feet and dried squid soup? haha!

Enough food for now, and I want to show you all my FOs! Oh ya, I did block the hemlock ring again and this time I pin out all the pointed edge and finally, I got to have nice edge hemlock ring blanket as what it supposed to be!!! It is such a pretty blanket. I can see myself knitting another one pretty soon!

This is a stripe scarf that knitted with rowan wool yarn. Very very soft yarn and I like the color. I made another stripe scarf in the about same width but that is patons merino wool. I think thin scarf can be very fashionable and not that bulky.

I bought 2 balls of Rowan cotton summer tweed in worsted weight with very good price. Well, nothing much you can do with 2 balls of yarn so I made a lace scarf out of it. You know how much I like purple! This color is just awesome! The lace pattern is picked out from a stitch pattern book I bought from Malaysia few years back.

Hang on there girls, there are two more scarves to go! =) This one is real fun to work with. I name it Seedo simply because the whole scarf is made up with seed stitch. I got this yarn from Michaels when there was 60% sales. It is a chunky acrylic and wool yarn. It looks like a tweed yarn and there are simple variations going on in the yarn from white to drak grey. Also, there are many mini thin strains which come in different nice colors hiding in the yarn randomly. I love the little surprise this yarn gives me!

Last but not the least, here it comes the scarf I knitted that is inspired by the Madli's shawl. I use 1 and half ball of knitpicks palette in Ash color. I finished this scarf in a week and I had some fun making nupps here n there. It is always a pleasure to learn new knitting technique. The blocking session can be difficult. It requires many pins to stretch out the piece. That hurted my fingers. I think I will need to buy some appropriate lace blocking wires and pins from knitpicks.

Happy Birthday My Love!

18th July was John's birthday and I wanted to bake him a special cake. A more challenging cake I prefer therefore I decided to make a fondant cake. Blame on the TLC Cake Boss show, all the cakes they make just simply look too fantastic and delicious. After spending some times looking up recipes, I was all excited and ready to get my hand on making it!

I spent about 4 hours in the kitchen kneading the stupid melted marshmallow with sugar and I knew right then I should have USED another recipe. Aaahhh, what an experience! At last, I yelled out for help because I have ran out energy to knead anymore. John came in and finished everything for me!

Ahhhh... I still feel very frustrated whenever think of that experience. I want to make another one very soon. Anyway, John managed to make out few broken pieces of the fondant layer and spread them on the top of the cake. Another special request from him, he wanted me to make the frosting myself. Well, everybody ate a piece of cake that night and John loves the cake simply because the two starwars figures that were decorated on the cake.

Happy Birthday baby and sorry for the embarassing cake! I promise I will improve in time and make you another fancy cake next year! =)

A New Pair of Jeans...

I cannot remember exactly when was the first time I wore a jeans but I remember the first pair of jeans that I purchased with my own money. That happened when was 20 years old. After three months working as a assistant in a clinic, I spent around 50usd to purchase my dream jeans. That was a big amount for me but that jeans was absolutely nice.

Everyone must have at least a pair of jeans and I always in the mood to buy new jeans whenever there are new designs or promotions going on. Armani Exchange is one of the brands that I like very much. Their jeans are trendy and always have good fits.

Skinny jeans is something that I die for but too bad I don't have a good shape to carry. Most of the time, I will only eye on low rise or regular rise boot, straight or flare jeans. I don't know how many of you guys are still following this blog as I have neglected it for such a long time. It is just harder than I imagine to get back to the blogging mood. I am still non-stop knitting and I am now at Arizona with John. It has been a week I am here and we are actually leaving back to Texas tonight. Not looking forward at all to the 16hrs drive. I miss my bed my pillow.

I have been working on the brooklyntweed hemlock ring blanket using lionbrand fisherman wool yarn. I like the color and it is actually softer than what I thought. I spent like 10 days to finish this project and blocked in the hotel room. I just have to say it does not turn out the way I want especially the edge. I guess I din't stretch it out enough in the blocking process so I will block it again once I get home.

It is a very easy project and a quick one as well. The edge binding off took like forever but it was kinda fun. Right after finishing this hemlock ring blanket, I cast on a simple lace pattern scarf using Rowan cotton summer tweed in purple color. I like the color and I like the simple pattern which you can easily memorize it. I definitely can finish this scarf in the coming 16hrs long drive.

Arizona is HOT! Hotter than I can handle and surprisingly, I love desert more and more now. I fall in love with big big GIANT cactus.

Nothing much to update here and I apologize for my long absence and I am really really trying hard to get back to this sweet blog.

Wow~ It's been about 3 Month ...

I have been MIA for about 3-months. Time passes incredibly fast and my vacation/working trip back to Malaysia has come to the end 2 days ago. I came back to Dallas at 28th May and I have slept most of the time.

I had such great time in Malaysia, being with my family, friends. If you asked me what my ideal lifestyle would be, I would tell you that I wish to spend 1/4 of year time in Malaysia and the rest at US with hubby. I know John will give me a big NO NO but if I have a choice, that will be something I WANT!!!

It hurts me badly everytime when I see my parents after months separation and it is very obvious that they have grown older each time, especially my dad. One of the reasons why I had to go back to Malaysia this time of the year is to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday. John came join me 6 weeks later and we had a wonderful dinner. I wish my dad did enjoy himself very much and I am looking forward to celebrating his 70th birthday.

Hmmm, what else?! Oh ya, I had a Macau trip with Samantha and LingZie. It was funnier than I expected and I definitely want to go back there for a visit again if I got the chance. The weather, those casinos, those foods... yummy!!!

Also, I met up with my dearest cousin Fleur and Doris since many many years ago. Eventhough we did not hang out as much as we wish, those are totally quality time that I enjoyed very much. I wish to see them again next year and we might do something together. Maybe a short trip to somewhere? Sssshhhhhh... can't let John knows about this plan as he will complain about me always leaving him at Dallas all by himself. Well, it is not easy for me to come all the way to US to marry him to be with him, no? I really wish he could understand why I wish to go home that often to be with my family and friends. Things might change in the future and right now, I do want to go home as frequent as I want.

There are many pictures to share here and most of them I have already loaded up to Facebook. I will try to upload those pictures in the next post. You know what, next post will be the 500th post. Wow, I blogged alot no? hahahaha... not good enough I know.

For knitting, I think I only knitted few rows all the time while I was in Malaysia. Too busy and no mood to knit at all. But soon enough I will pick up my knitting needles again. Stay tune for the next post with photos k?! hugsss...
